A Bit of History
Meeks Environmental Services, LLC is a family owned business celebrating more than 65 years of exceptional service in central Alabama. Bobby Meeks started the business in 1957 while he was an Alabama State Trooper.
As the demand for a reliable septic service business grew along with the population, Bobby left his position as a trooper and went into the pumping business full time. He was also a founding member of the Alabama Septic Tank Association.
Bobby’s son Steve served as president of the association, which is now known as Alabama Onsite Wastewater Association from 1991 to 1993. Steve is now an part time instructor for the association.
Bobby retired in 1998, leaving the daily operation to Steve and his daughter MaryKay.
In 2023, Steve and MaryKay both retired and the business is operated by a team of professionals, led by Steve’s son, Jon, who has taken over the business.
The business has diversified from cleaning septic tanks and now also includes mortgage inspections, cleaning of interceptors and commercial grease traps, cleaning lift stations and storm drain jetting for municipalites.
With an extensive fleet of trucks, no job is too small or too large. Most of our trucks have a 2500 gallon capacity, with 2 trucks having a 3300 gallon capacity and a tanker with a 5400 gallon capacity. All trucks carry fresh water for jetting small lines.
We also have a vacuum truck which carries 1500 gallons of fresh water and can jet storm drains and larger sewer lines with a pressure of 2000 psi at a rate of 90 gallons per minute.
We are confident we have both the expertise and ability to meet your needs.
